The first rammed earth building in the 1980s designed by Graeme North, Architect, was the creation of a character home that feels alive and warm in heart.

The mass of the earth moderates heat and humidity creating a drier and more evenly temperatured house - an environmental choice for a natural home that brings a sense of well being.

Inside the home, the earth walls are accented with raw timber, the open plan dining and living is heated by the wood burner, the French Doors and wooden joinery opens out to the wrap-around covered patio and sights and sounds of nature. Sitting within the bush at the foot of our heroic Mount Manaia, it is a private and peaceful haven for nature lovers.

All the hard work is done so you can listen to the kiwi call at night while you gaze through the treetops out to the Whangarei Harbour by day.
