Auction Play: A no reserve auction, and a property with a difference

By Admin Whangarei

You may be familiar with the property – a modest one-bedroom, open plan house which ranked up over 13,700 views online in the lead-up to the no-reserve auction on Sunday 3 March at the 2019 Funky Fish Festival.

We’re pleased to announce that the property achieved a record sales price of $500 – all of which has been donated to Whangarei Heads School and Community Library in their annual fundraiser, the The Funky Fishing and Diving Competition Festival.

Ray White Whangarei sales agent, Daniel Foote purchased and donated the property to the event as part of his sponsorship of the festival – and got a little help from his kids in the process! Check out the online video below.

In what he describes as a ‘nail-biting, bidding war’ Daniel is pleased to announce that the property sold to a young local family (‘rather than an out-of-town investment buyer’) with plans to enjoy it for many years to come.

A Whangarei Heads local for over ten years, Daniel only completed his real estate sales licence in June 2018. Having built a reputation in Northland for his video production work in the boat building, super yacht and real estate industries, Daniel was regularly contracted by top real estate agents seeking to utilise his unique cinematic style… which is how he fell in love with real estate – leading him to obtain his license and join the Ray White Whangarei team in June 2018. Daniel now works alongside Chris Hannam and Heather Udy on the sale and marketing of properties throughout the Whangarei Heads, Parua Bay and Pataua regions.

With his son’s at Whangarei Heads School and Pukeko Daycare, Daniel is well engaged in the community – also running the Whangarei Heads People Facebook Group. He fosters his relationships with the community based on trust and transparency while having a straight forward approach to business negotiations… and with his quick wit, he can’t help but have a little fun along the way.

Daniel’s professional and personal skills, matched with his ability to skillfully craft a story with visual media to create an emotional attachment for prospective purchasers provides a great resource to the his team’s clients.

Now in its 17th year, the Whangarei Heads School Funky Fishing & Diving Competition Festival Fundraiser is a great community and family event that encourages families to get out on the water, have a fish or dive and enjoy this beautiful coastal environment that we live in around Whangarei Heads, Northland. The fishing & diving competition runs over a 24hr period, offers all ages a chance to win great category prizes or spot prizes. The event caters to all, with the family fun day festival starting with the fishing competition weigh-in, followed by the ‘grab a bargain fresh fish auction’ while providing plenty of other activities for the kids, live entertainment and fantastic food and refreshments. – We are proud to announce that the event raised more than $16,000 for the school and library.

“The generosity of the community was amazing… Our focus this year with the profit is to improve the school grounds for local children. Last year we raised enough to develop an outdoor classroom, playground soft fall, new slide component, sandpit surround, and new outdoor carpet for Kid Space, and this year we will invest the profits in further improving the school grounds for the children” say event organisers.
