Help us shine a ray of light this festive season with the Bald Angels and Christmas in a Shoebox.
Christmas spirit does not happen for many of most vulnerable and impoverished Kiwi kids & their whanau. Families in our communities often don’t get to have food around Christmas, let alone being able to afford Christmas gifts.
Our generous Northland community donates over 1,600 gifts every year in the spirit of manaakitanga and whanaungatanga … but Bald Angels need help with funding both kai boxes (food parcels) and gifts for children.
With the need estimated to have doubled since last year, we are proud to be supporting Bald Angels with their annual Christmas Drive and will be providing a Whangarei-based drop off point for donations.
Bald Angel’s partners identify the families in need. Families cannot approach Bald Angels directly. Their Partners are Police, Plunket, Iwi Social Services, Women’s Refuge plus Health & Education providers. The reason Bald Angels work with them is so they can wrap around additional support and resource families to get the services they need to thrive.
To provide Christmas gifts to children in our community, Bald Angels are asking for donated items such as:
Please drop off your donations prior to 2 December 2024. Visit the Bald Angels website to find out more and make a cash donation: www.baldangels.org.nz
Grab a shoe box, choose an age and gender for your box, fill it with suitable gifts, add a note or card (optional) then drop it under the giving tree in our Whangarei office and we’ll ensure it gets to a local child in our community. (Individual gifts can also be dropped in and we’ll help fill a box for a child on your behalf).
Putting smiles on kids faces is just one great thing about this project. Families from across Northland will be so thankful for your support.
Please drop off your donations prior to 13 December 2024 to ensure we can deliver the gifts to families in time for Christmas.
