Moving Out - A Guide for Tenants
Our primary goal is to assist you in securing your bond refund. Now that your tenancy is coming to an end, here are some helpful reminders for the vacation process.
Hot plates, elements and drip trays to be cleaned of all grease. Oven and grill - both internal and external surfaces to be free of grease. Rangehood and filters to be clean and grease free. All cupboards and drawers to be wiped clean inside and out. Benches and tiled areas to be clean and free of grease.
Bathrooms & Ensuites
Shower and baths and mirrors to be thoroughly cleaned - including the removal of any mildew. Toilet bowl to be cleaned and disinfected, inside and out, including lid and seat - cistern to be wiped with a damp cloth.
Clean and disinfect the tub. Check washing machine taps are turned off - if taps are leaking please immediately inform your Property Manager.
All wardrobes and drawers to be cleared of all items and wiped with a damp cloth.
Check your tenancy agreement, to determine whether or not you are required to have the property treated for pests. (Commercial carpet cleaners will do a flea eradication for you.)
Carpets to be cleaned by an approved professional carpet cleaner, including removal of all stains which have occurred during tenancy. All other floors to be vacuumed/swept and mopped with disinfectant. All built-in furniture, ledges and skirting boards to be wiped with a damp cloth. All cupboards, drawers and shelves to be wiped with a damp cloth and left empty. All light fittings, ceiling and extractor fans to be cleaned. Walls and doors – all marks to be removed. All windows, sliding doors and fly screens to be cleaned inside and outside.
All garages, carports and storage sheds, to be cleaned and hosed out. All oil and grease stains to be removed from floors and driveways. Gardens to be weeded and tidy, lawns to be mowed within 2 days of vacating premises and edges trimmed. Pools and spa to be cleaned/vacuumed and at the correct pH factor if stated in tenancy agreement. All rubbish to be removed from property.
Keys must be returned to our office on the day you vacate, and during the following times: Monday - Friday 8.00am to 5.00pm or Saturday / Sunday between 9.00am and 3.00pm. Rent will continue to be charged until all keys are returned to us.
